Ice Cream Festival
New Castle County is hosting the Ice Cream Festival at Rockwood Park on Saturday, June 29 from 8am to 10pm (rain date Sunday, June 30).
Join New Castle County in celebrating the history of New Castle County with a vintage feel and an atmosphere that will encourage patrons to unplug and enjoy time with family and friends. We will have historical demonstrations, handmade crafts and unique wandering performers.
Volunteers are needed for the following shifts but also have the option to stay the whole day. Let us know in the notes section of your application which shift you want to volunteer for:
Minimum age 16 years for following tasks:
• Set Up: 8 am to 11 am (10 volunteers)
• Ticket Booths/Money Takers/Greeters:
- 11:30 am to 3:30 pm (16 volunteers)
- 3 to 7:00 pm (16 volunteers)
- 6:30 to 10:00 pm (12 volunteers)
Minimum age 18 years for following tasks:
• Parking help:
- 11 am to 3 pm (6 volunteers)
- 2:30 to 6:30 pm (6 volunteers)
- 6 to 10 pm (6 volunteers)
• General traffic help:
- 11 am to 3 pm (7 volunteers)
- 2:30 to 6:30 pm (7 volunteers)
- 6 to 10 pm (7 volunteers)
Parking and traffic control. This is great for teams such as corporate employees, Scouts, Air Patrol or National Guard, police academy or other public safety volunteers. Some experience in directing drivers and walkers is a plus but not required.
