Duffle Bag Project in Lower Delaware
The duffle bag project in Lower Delaware sews duffle bags for use by Foster Care workers who are often tasked the difficut work of removing children from their home. When children are removed from their living situation, often hastily, there is not a good option for them to place their belongings. Often using trash bags to gather their private items and clothing, teens and children begin to see themselves in a negative light. With foster care staff having these beautifully sewn and durable duffle bags, there is another option to the trash bag. Given this gift, children and teens can start the journey to a new home without the stigma of carrying their items in a trash bag. Volunteers are needed to cut, sew and measure material for these strong durable duffle bags.
