Paws for People PAWS for People (Pet- Assisted Visitation Volunteer Services, or PAWS) is a nonprofit organization committed to providing therapeutic visits to any person in the community who would benefit from interaction with a well-trained, loving pet. There are several ways to get involved!

  • Fundraising / Community Events – There are community events, special events, and fundraisers throughout the year including:

    • PAWS Conference (February) - Volunteers needed to help set up/ clean up, assist with luncheon prep and serving

    • Spring Fling (April) - Luncheon and Silent Auction - Volunteers needed to assist with planning, collecting donated auction items, set up and clean up

    • Barnes & Noble Book fair and Gift Wrap (Multiple times throughout the year)- Volunteers needed to hand out vouchers to shoppers for book fair or gift wrap for holidays

    • Wag -N- Walk 5K (October)- Volunteers needed to help set up/ clean up course, work various locations throughout course, including water/food stations, assist vendors

  • Office Volunteer – provide light administrative support

  • Pet Therapy Teams – PAWS for People is looking for volunteers with gentle affectionate pets who are interested in becoming certified to provide pet therapy services.

  • Special Skills – You may have a special skill that is just what we need (e.g., photography, carpentry, graphic design, grant writing).
