We Need Knitters in New Castle, Sussex and Kent County!
Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care of Delaware is in need of volunteers with wonderful knitting or crocheting skills for our We Honor Veterans program. Volunteer knitters knit lap blankets for our hospice patients who are Veterans. The lap blankets are presented to our Veteran patients during a We Honor Veterans ceremony, which provides the opportunity to thank our Veteran patients for their service. Our Veteran patients love receiving these hand-made knit gifts. If you would like to become a Knitting Volunteer, please call Seasons Hospice at 302-533-3800 or email Rebekah Welch, Volunteer Coordinator, at rwelch@seasons.org. You will be creating a touching memento for our Veteran patients and their family members that they can cherish for a lifetime. Seasons Hospice will provide the yarn needed to make these lap blankets. Knitters can select the pattern of their choice.
