Books For Overseas Youth - Eagle Scout Project
People to People Delaware (and the Boys Scouts of American Troop #390 ) have decided to sponsor a new humanitarian project. The goals of this project are to prevent books from libraries, schools, and homes going into Delaware's landfills and to provide non-fiction books to teachers and youth all around the globe who wish to learn English. As a global language, English functions as a way in which the peoples of the world can share their ideas, values, and hopes for a better future. We in People to People Delaware can fulfill our mission to promote understanding by helping people to learn English well enough to discuss issues to bring about peace. If you wish to get involved in this project, you may do so in several ways: Try to find NON-fiction books in English (beginning level to middle school level) Select books that have no political or religious content Try to find books for teaching English as a second language Help store, pack and send boxes Provide funds for shipping books to other countries Offer a storage facility Please contact: Michael or Lynn at 302-492-1002 if you are interested in helping with this project.
