About the Program
A Matter of Balance is the most widely implemented fall prevention program across the country. An evidence-based, field tested program, A Matter of Balance has been shown to be highly effective in reducing the fear of falling and increasing activity levels among older adults. It is an easy to implement, inexpensive, and well-accepted turnkey educational program that can be employed within many community organizations and groups.
Who Can Attend?
Sessions are for older adults who are concerned about falls, have sustained a fall in the past, are restricting activities because of concerns about falling, and are interested in improving flexibility, balance, and strength.
Participants are usually age 60 or older, able to walk (with or without the use of assistive devices), and able to problem-solve.
