Q: How do I access the event?

A: Register by visiting https://volunteer.Delaware.gov/mlkdayofservice and you will be sent a link with the information to join our Zoom

Q: Do I have to tell you which sessions I want to attend in advance?

A: No, you can come and go throughout the day as it fits your interests and your schedule. You can view the full list of session times and a brief description of the activity or presentation by visiting the event page at http://volunteer.Delaware.gov/mlkdayofservice

Q: Can people still register on Monday?

A: Yes! The registration link will stay open so invite everyone you know!

Q: There are several of us in the same house, should we all register?

A: Yes! Every individual over the age of 13 should complete an online registration to be eligible to win some of our prize giveaways and receive a certificate of attendance. Children under the age of 13 can receive a certificate for attending by having a parent or guardian email dhss_volunteerdelaware@delaware.gov with the child’s name, age, number of sessions attended and school (if applicable)

Q: Can I fulfill my service hour requirements for school by attending?

A: If it is up to us, the answer is yes. Participating in our Virtual Day of Service will entitle you to a certificate of attendance. Presenters will give you the answers to specific. questions during their presentations. Write those down and use them to fill in the blanks on our end of day survey to verify your hours of attendance. Each session equals one half hour. Please consult with your school or other supervising organization to ensure that they will accept our certificate and this event to fulfill your requirements. We are not responsible for ensuring acceptance of these service hours, that is up to the organization.

Q: Do I need the supplies listed to attend?

A: They are not required to attend, but having the supplies listed on our event site at https://volunteer.Delaware.gov/mlkdayofservice will allow you to fully participate in the events. Most things are simple and you will have them around the house.

Q: What do I do with the things I make during the event? What if I like one of the projects and make or collect more items?

A: If you have items to donate, you can either follow the instructions provided by the presenter or contact dhss_volunteerdelaware@delaware.gov and we will help you find a drop off point.
