Nimble Fingers

Nimble Fingers is a group of volunteers that knit, crochet, sew and quilt for vulnerable populations in our community.  They volunteer through Volunteer Delaware 50+ making baby items, lap robes, hats and scarves, chemo caps, walker bags, helmet liners and shawls.  Handmade items are crafted at home, local senior centers, assisted living facilities and community clubhouses.  The items made by volunteers are distributed to nonprofit agencies including hospitals, nursing homes, service men and women, shelters, and many children's organizations including schools, Big Brother, Big Sister and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware.  Nimble Fingers volunteers also work to fulfill the needs of the Lower Delaware Duffle Bag Project, making durable duffle bags given to children taken into the foster care system.  They also crochet sleeping mats from plastic grocery bags, offering a weather resistant place to sleep.  Bring your variety of talents to us today!  We are always learning!
