Sleep Under the Stars Oct 19 (rain date: Oct 26)
Are you, your group, or team looking for community service projects...especially fun ones? Sleep under the Stars volunteers assist in providing a fun family event held by the Department of Community Services.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
Help youngsters enjoy fun games and crafts, helping hay riders on and off the wagons, help load camping gear into wagons (a good workout!), parking assistance, and floating from assignment to assignment in order to assist where needed. SEE SPECIFIC SHIFTS BELOW AND MAKE INDICATE WHICH YOU ARE AVAILABLE FOR IN THE NOTES SECTION OF YOUR APPLICATION.
9am to 1pm; 12 to 4pm; 3 to 8pm; 7 to 11pm - Directing traffic/guests (20 volunteers per shift)
9am to 1pm; 12 to 4pm; 3 to 8pm; 7 to 11pm - Parking (20 volunteers per shift)
9am to 1pm; 12 to 4pm; 3 to 8pm - Camping gear loading. Requires carrying and lifting camping gear (a good workout!) (25 volunteers per shift)
9am to 1pm; 12 to 4pm; 3 to 8pm – Camper check-in (10 volunteers per shift)
12 to 6pm - Moon bounce monitors
1:30 to 6:30pm - Crafts
3 to 6pm - Grandpop Bubbles needs help!
2 to 6pm; 5:30 to 9:30pm – Hayride assistants (5 volunteers per shift)
4:30 to 11:30pm - Bonfire monitors (6 volunteers)
2 to 6pm or 3 to 7pm - Photographer. Twilight/evening photography experience preferred but not required.
Please note that all tasks require standing for long periods in the fall weather. Some tasks may require bending and moderate to heaving lifting.
