NAMI Volunteer
NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in1979 has blossomed into the nation's leading voice on mental health.. Over the years the organization has grown to provide a wide range of awareness, advocacy, support, education and housing to support those affected by mental illness in Delaware.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:

NAMI DE Walks — Our main fundraising event is our annual NAMI Walks which we host the first Saturday of May. Volunteers would help with day-of logistics and pre-event promotion.

Health Fairs & Exhibitions — Volunteers would lead a table with fliers and be available to discuss what the organization is about to attendees of the event.

Helpline Information & Referral Specialist — Volunteers would be taking calls from people looking for resources. They would enter the caller’s information into our Helpline database and connect them to local resources that would best fit their needs if available.

Front Desk Receptionist/Office Work — Volunteers would be seated at the front desk, available to transfer calls as they come in and aid in office work. Office work includes: printing/copying, mailing letter using a postage machine, sorting mail, and similar activities.
