Disaster Action Team (DAT) Member – In Training Support Your Community. Make a Difference.
Join the Red Cross as a Disaster Action Team (DAT) member to help individuals and families affected by home fires or other local emergencies. This in-person, on-call volunteer role provides 24/7 immediate support and comfort during times of crisis.
What You’ll Do:

Respond with your team to local disasters within two hours of activation.

Provide direct assistance to clients following Red Cross guidelines.

Support the on-scene team lead by identifying and communicating additional needs.

Participate in team meetings and maintain communication with leadership.

Stay available during your scheduled shifts and inform leaders of any conflicts.

Assist with other tasks as needed by DAT leadership.
What You Need:

A valid driver’s license (Motor Vehicle Record background check required).

Ability to use basic technology (video calls, mobile apps, Microsoft Office, internet search).

A commitment to complete 10 hours of online, self-paced training within your first month.
Time Commitment:

3 shifts per week for a total of 60 hours a month to be "on call".

On-call means you’re ready to respond if needed during your selected shifts—actual responses depend on local incidents.
