Disaster Recovery Team Member – Regional (DE)

Help Families Rebuild After Disaster. Be the Support They Need.

Purpose:
Join the Red Cross Recovery Team to provide vital follow-up and recovery planning support to individuals and families impacted by disasters—primarily home fires. As a Recovery Team Member, you’ll help clients navigate their path to recovery through referrals, resources, and compassionate guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reach out to clients within 72 hours of a case being opened by the Disaster Action Team or another caseworker.

  • Provide financial assistance to qualified clients when needed.

  • Conduct recovery planning conversations and offer referrals to Red Cross and community-based services.

  • Document all client interactions and services in RC Care following Client Care Program Standards.

  • Provide services virtually or in person, depending on client needs.

  • Collaborate with community partners to support long-term recovery plans.

  • May support additional recovery services such as REC/CARE/SA GAP based on regional needs.

What You’ll Need:

  • Strong communication and listening skills.

  • Comfort using online tools and databases.

  • A compassionate, problem-solving mindset.

  • Willingness to learn and adhere to Red Cross standards and procedures.

Time Commitment:

  • Minimum of 8 hours per week (flexible schedule).

  • Availability during weekdays (Monday–Friday preferred), with occasional weekend support as needed.

  • Minimum one-year commitment, renewable.
