National Day of Service
Patriot Day is Thursday, September 11. Join the City of Newark in volunteering at Olan Thomas Park in honor of this day. Volunteers are essential in taking care of our parks and for us to conduct the quality programs and events that the community has come to love. Volunteer help and dedication to the community are greatly appreciated. There will also be lots of information on how to sign up for our Fall Volunteer Opportunities! Volunteers UNDER age 14 are welcome as long as accompanied by a responsible adult.
Location: Olan Thomas Park
Date: Thursday, September 11, 2025
Time: 9 am - 12 pm
Volunteer Role: Assist Parks Staff with litter removal and special park maintenance. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves and hand tools, wear closed toe shoes, and clothes they do not mind getting dirty.
Organization Volunteer Coordinators: Please send us an updated list of volunteers as soon as possible or by September 1.
